Prosecutor’s son accused of causing the death of three pedestrians released on bail

Dmytro Rud, the son of a Prosecutor from one of the Dnipropetrovsk districts, is accused of hitting the three women while driving his own Toyota Prado in October last year.  The women all died on the spot.

The criminal case over the accident was first examined by a court in Dnipropetrovsk, but then transferred to Zaporizhya in order to ensure unbiased examination.

The Zaporizhya District Prosecutor today confirmed that the court had allowed the application for bail brought by Rud’s lawyer, although apparently the public prosecutor had opposed bail.

There have been a number of protests in Dnipropetrovsk demanding objective examination of the case.
