Tymoshenko’s Lawyer appeals against her arrest

The appeal against the arrest of former Prime Minister and leader of the opposition Batkivshchyna / BYUT party and faction in parliament, Yulia Tymoshenko, was lodged on Sunday with the Kyiv Court of Appeal

 

Yury Sukhov, lawyer representing former Prime Minister and leader of the opposition Batkivshchyna / BYUT party and faction in parliament, Yulia Tymoshenko, on Sunday lodged an appeal with the Kyiv Court of Appeal against the decision by the Pechersky District Court  to remand Ms Tymoshenko in custody. She had previously been under a signed undertaking not to leave the city.

Mr Sukhov said that he had been unable to obtain another permit to see his client because of the weekend and had used the one permit he received to visit her on Friday, following her arrest.
