Two more witnesses testify in Yury Lutsenko’s favour

On Wednesday another two witnesses in the trial of former Minister of Internal Affairs and opposition leader, Yury Lutsenko, stated in the Pechersky District Court that they had not received any criminal instructions from Lutsenko regarding his former driver, Leonid Prystuplyuk.

On Wednesday another two witnesses in the trial of former Minister of Internal Affairs and opposition leader, Yury Lutsenko, stated in the Pechersky District Court  that they had not received any criminal instructions from Lutsenko regarding his former driver, Leonid Prystuplyuk.

Oleksandr Pantelyshyn, former employee of the Minister’s Office, turned to Yury Lutsenko in court and stated that he had never received any unlawful orders or instructions from him. He added that he did not know what was written in the indictment.

Another witness – driver Anatoly Yukhymenko, who worked with Leonid Prystuplyuk, stated that he knew nothing about the essence of the charges and added that Yury Lutsenko had never given him any unlawful instructions. He said that there is an MIA [Ministry of Internal Affairs] Order which came into force under Yury Kravchenko, Lutsenko’s predecessor, which placed the Minister’s drivers in the MIA Operational Services Department.

Mr Yukhymenko said that he had been handed the court summons in the MIA Department of Internal Security.
