Infringements reported during Vasylkiv Mayoral Elections
During the elections on 2 June for Mayor of Vasylkiv, in the Kyiv oblast, observers from the election watchdog OPORA, as well as from particularly candidates, faced obstruction. OPORA reports that in one precinct the observers were only allowed on part of the voting hall, while in another the precinct election commission [PEC] passed a decision that observers were not allowed to be behind the members of the commission. OPORA notes that the decision was issued without any of the information required on the form.
The UDAR candidate Serhiy Sabov asserted that they had seen evidence of “carousel” voting, and spoke of a person who was seen voting in 5 different places. UDAR also spoke of “dead souls” on the voter lists.
As of Sunday evening, various MPs, including the head of UDAR, Vitaly Klichko, were at Vasylkiv.
