Ukraine world leader for number of taxes

Liga.net reports that according to the World Bank’s Doing Business rating, Ukraine has the highest rate of taxes in the world with the average Ukraine business paying 28 types of tax a year.

Liga.net reports that according to the World Bank’s Doing Business rating, Ukraine has the highest rate of taxes in the world with the average Ukraine business paying  28 types of tax a year.  More than 490 hours on average a year are spent on filling out forms and making payments.

In 2012 Ukrainian businesses paid 55.5% of their income to the state coffers, with 43.3% being tax for labour.

The report notes that in 2013 Ukraine reduced its number of taxes and rose from 185th place in the rating to 165th place.  This was through electronic provision of data and payment for medium and large business. Previously Ukraine had 135 tax payments and fees for a medium business with this costing 657 hours a year.

In Russia businesses pay 7 taxes a year.
