Euromaidan: Lviv universities come out in support of student protest
The top management of Lviv higher education institutes met on Nov 23 and drew up a statement of support for students protesting against the government’s decision to suspend preparations for the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
The main issues discussed at the meeting held at the Lviv Regional Council concerned support for students’ protest; safeguarding them from possible provocation; and organizing measures for making up missing lectures.
The deans and their deputies were unanimous in supporting the student community. According to Taras Dobko, first Deputy Dean of the Ukrainian Catholic University, “If we don’t support students in their initiatives today, then tomorrow they face the danger of becoming yet another lost generation. We cannot allow this.”
