The Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union has announced that it is also withdrawing representatives from the Constitutional Assembly under the president, public councils and other advisory bodies. Its statement says that “flagrant rights violations in various regions of Ukraine which culminated in the use of force in dispersing the peaceful demonstration on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv at 4 a.m. on Nov 30, as well as the use of force on Dec. 1 on Bankova St, render constructive dialogue with the present Ukrainian government impossible. In view of this the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union is withdrawing its representative from the Constitutional Assembly, as well as representatives on advisory bodies and public councils attached to central and regional authorities".
