The Tribunal for Putin (T4P) global initiative was set up in response to the all-out war launched by Russia against Ukraine in February 2022.

Anti-Ukraine protests for the Russian media

Many of the protests in different European countries with banners claiming that Ukraine is carrying out ‘genocide’ in Donbas, etc., are specially orchestrated, for, if not by, the Russian media.

Radio Svoboda reports that one such demonstration in Venice was supposed to have been organized by members of the federation of Italian trade unions and the committee “For an anti-fascist Donbas”.  The banners were all critical both of the Ukrainian authorities and US foreign policy and spoke of ‘genocide in the south-east of Ukraine’.

The event was widely publicized and tweeted about, with numerous people tweeting the same phrase.   Fortunately Ukrainians living in Italy also took a video of the event in which the TV Rossiya 24 crew can be clearly seen telling the ‘protesters’ what to do.

The Ukrainians who filmed the event say that as soon as the TV crew had finished, the ‘protesters’ packed up and left.

An even more telling example was seen outside the Ukrainian embassy in Warsaw.  You don’t need to know Polish to understand what is happening in the video here:

Young kids, many of whom try to hide their faces, are totally unable to say why they’ve gathered outside the embassy.  One says that they’re “going to stand and watch”.  Minutes later a man appears with flags of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk people’s republics, and a supposedly blood-stained Ukrainian flag, and hands them around.  Even passers-by tell those filming the stunt that it’s obviously been commissioned.

A diplomat from the Ukrainian embassy in Warsaw told UNIAN that this was not the first such ‘anti-Ukraine protest’.  It was also not the first that didn’t go as its organizers wished.  On a previous occasion , she said, a woman who had fled from Luhansk walked up.  The organizers decided to ask her to speak, assuming that she would slam the Ukrainian government.  Instead she said that she was against these so-called ‘republics’ and had fled to Poland because of them.
