Communist Party of the USSR specialist appointed Head of the Institute for National Remembrance

It is reported on the official government website that the Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Valery Soldatenko Head of the Institute for National Remembrance. The previous Head, Ihor Yukhnovsky, was dismissed from his post as Acting Head at the end of June.
Valery Soldatenko was born in 1946 in the Donetsk region. He is a historian and member of the National Academy of Sciences. From 1976 until 1991 he worked in or headed faculties on the history of the CPSU [Communist Party of the Soviet Union].
