At the Solovky Stone on Lubyanka on Monday evening a meeting took place to mark Day of Remembrance for Political Prisoners and Victims of Repression. Around 200 people took place (later reports suggest around 500).

The meeting was held under the banner “No to political repression!”  Those attending held placards reading “We won’t let Russia be returned to 1937!”, “The state is for the people, not the people for the state”. “There must not be political prisoners in Russia!” and “Comrade Chekists, you’re getting up to your old ways”, as well as pictures of present political prisoners.
