The Commission of the Ivano-Frankivsk Public Council on Information Policy supports denationalization of the press
The permanent Commission of the Ivano-Frankivsk Public Council on Information Policy, the Media and Freedom of Speech which is headed by the General Director of Regional Television Olha Babiy has approved an appeal from delegates from the 10th reporting and electoral conference of the regional branch of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine on creating a regional coordination council for promoting and monitoring the transformation of state-owned media outlets. This was stated on 18 January by a representative of the regional council’s press service.
The first meeting for the year of the Commission also approved a joint appeal from two organizations of OUN-UPA [the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists – Ukrainian Resistance Army] and State Deputy Andriy Shkil on state recognition of OUN-UPA.
