On 25 November, in Zhovka, thousands of people not only from the Zhovka district, but from neighbouring Ukrainian and Polish areas and Lviv were united in mourning the victims of the communist repression of 1946-1948, whose remains were found five years ago in the Crypt of the Monastery of Christs Birth.

Or to the little girl from the village of Vilenka in the Zhytomyr region; or to the woman in the village of Krasnohirka in the Odessa region; or to the man from the village of Teplivka in the Poltava region.

Throughout Ukraine today events are taking place in memory of the victims of Holodomor and political repression. At 16.00 a Minutes Silence will be observed throughout Ukraine. This will be followed by a nationwide action “Light a candle!”
