A survey commissioned by La Strada – Ukraine has shown that Ukrainians are most negative about stories which degrade people, as well as films with filthy language. It also found that the fairly high number of people who objected to violence being shown did not include many young people
Civic organizations propose amendments to the Constitution

At the All-Ukrainian Civic Assembly over 350 civic organizations are planning to call for changes to the Constitution which would prevent politicians misusing the Main Law of the country. Other resolutions will reflect the urgent need for those in power to understand that laws are to be observed, not manipulated or ignored
No compensation for 8 months remanded in a SIZO?

The Donetsk Court of Appeal has allowed the Prosecutor to not pay lawyer Serhiy Salov 2 million UAH for 8 months in a SIZO [pre-trial detention centre]. This revoked the ruling by the Voroshilovsky District Court in Donetsk which had order the Prosecutor to pay this amount in compensation for moral damages over the unwarranted detention in custody

It was members of Odessas Memorial Society and organizations for former victims of repression who succeeded in establishing that the remains of up to six thousand people are those of victims of political repression. It is believed that the mass executions took place in 1937.

By not allowing “Memorial” to appeal against the Russian Chief Military Prosecutors Offices refusal to rehabilitate the victims of the Katyń Massacre, Russian courts are not only abetting a further crime against the victims of this atrocity, but are also in breach of the Russian Constitution
