Since Yulia Tymoshenko came to the court hearing without lawyers, the indictment is being read out without anybody from the defence. The Judge also decided that video or photo coverage was unacceptable
Lutsenko Trial: Without Journalists or Lutsenko

On Thursday the prosecutor began reading out the indictment. First though,journalists were removed and then Lutsenko himself, supposedly for infringing public order. Such actions by the judges examining the cases against members of the opposition are already being appealed both in Ukraine and in the European Court of Human Rights

The Pechersky District Court in Kyiv has refused to release former Acting Minister of Defence in Yulia Tymoshenko’s government, Valery Ivashchenko from custody on a signed undertaking not to abscond. He has been held in custody now for almost a year.

Serhiy Kostakov had been held in custody since the beginning of December, probably longer than the likely sentence if convicted of the crime he is charged with. He is accused of having damaged a car during the peaceful protest against the Tax Code in late November 2010
